Homecoming

Returning home to Rugby Town with the intention of living here for the foreseeable future has come about as quite the surprise for many, including myself! It is a decision I truly feel is out of my own hands, I remember in 2018 at Hidden Paradise in the foothills of Las Alpujarras I had this sudden realisation in my heart that I was going to end up returning to Rugby one day, equipped to implement change. I like to see these moments as being guided by the divine source to the exact place I need to be to fulfil my lifes purpose.

I am not leaving the nomadic life behind by any means, there is much of the UK that I am yet to spend life in as a pilgrim.

Homecoming for me has been extremely smooth and has brought up all sorts of emotions and feelings of gratitude. I am grateful to still have such close friends in my life as this makes the return even more welcoming!

I am also returning just as I am set to self-publish two books I have written, one an illustrated, thirty-three poem anthology, and the first book in the 'A nomads Diary' Series. As exciting as this all is, I have also got my sights set on our local communities and looking at ways we can come together to implement regenerative systems to ensure the future generations are no longer subject to our societies misgivings.

The reasons for my wishes to help are simple, I was expelled when I was fiteen, I was told I was going to amount to nothing and that i'd likely end up in prison. Even at the moment of expulsion all them years ago, I had already made some huge changes in my attitude and outlook on life when we all lost our beloved brother and friend Philip Baker. Years of rediscovering the world and running from the shadow of the man I used to be has taught me much and has seen me truly turn a new leaf. Now, I want to share this new and evolved version of me.

There are so many things that we can do to begin restoring our sense of place and purpose in the world. The world as we once knew it is slowly dying for something new to be born from its ashes, rising like the pheonix and breathing new life into our communities, and it is our responsibility to ensure what is born is of regeneration, restoration and reconnection.

The Rekindling Our Communities initiative is already active with many people willing to play their part in this process! I hope together we no longer allow the divisive threads of our indentities to have a hold on us and we can reawaken to our shared interests and unite as the great species humanity has the capacity of being.
